A seed in jealous ground sown
Grows lush green, with heavy hearts nurtured
Upset by conditions optimal yet foul
Nothing good enough:
Ever-preparing to reach heights foreign to its kind.
Up comes a shoot in faithful ground loved
Full green like the former, scent different however
They look the same,
Yet one bitter
They appear the same,
Yet one mighty:
Stood firm in shade of tenderness.
Adored to sturdy bits,
Crisp clean hallelujahs
-missing the pollution of deliberate victimhood,
the insistence to justify malice.
Hear the hymnal ring:
Love is not meant to poison you numb,
rob you blind.
Reach out, pick and taste
The goodness of loved land.
