The Colour Series (Part 1): Hues Of Possibility

I had never seen the colour green
So he told me what it’s for:
To bloom from that which we promised,
To fume with envy when luck walked by
in favour of another.

I had never seen the colour green
So he pulled up a said-to-be-emerald screen
Said,
“Imagine the world were brand new:
Not yet punctuated by inventions and brain stew
But only a medley of ‘oh the possibility’
and ‘you don’t need to know’.
Imagine the world were born again
And you could be more than my best friend
That…
That would be the colour green.”

  1. I have read and written poetry for three decades, and, wow, this is a remarkable poem. I love the images, structure, and diction. I normally eschew rhyme, but you use is naturally, effectively, and creatively. A pleasure to make your acquaintance.
